About Us
Christine Ash-Buechner has wide experience in conflict, transition, and development contexts having lived and worked in the Caucasus, the Balkans, Europe, South Asia and Africa. Her background in Child Protection is focused on safeguarding and internal investigations of alleged sexual abuse and exploitation within humanitarian organisations.She believes that empowered communities are better able to protect themselves and their environments. Protection in the context of climate change will address issues of community well-being, risk mitigation and social resilience. Christine is Canadian, living in Berlin with her husband Timm (see below) and their two daughters.
Timm Büchner is a co-founder of Integrate Climate and currently serves as director. His expertise is in Disaster Risk Reduction and participatory approaches.
Timm’s experience is based on work for international NGOs and the government organisation GIZ having focused on international development and humanitarian assistance in Russia, the Balkans, Caucasus, South and Central Asia, and East Africa.
Timm has a strong interest in ecology and an educational background in Geography & Development Management. He is frequently a short-term election observer for the OSCE. Since 2008 he is based in Berlin with his wife Christine (see above) and their family.
