About Us

Chris­tine Ash-Buechner has wide expe­ri­ence in con­flict, tran­si­tion, and devel­op­ment con­texts hav­ing lived and worked in the Cau­ca­sus, the Balkans, Europe, South Asia and Africa.  Her back­ground in Child Pro­tec­tion is focused on safe­guard­ing and inter­nal inves­ti­ga­tions of alleged sex­ual abuse and exploita­tion within human­i­tar­ian organisations.She believes that empow­ered com­mu­ni­ties are bet­ter able to pro­tect them­selves and their envi­ron­ments.  Pro­tec­tion in the con­text of cli­mate change will address issues of com­mu­nity well-being, risk mit­i­ga­tion and social resilience. Chris­tine is Cana­dian, liv­ing in Berlin with her hus­band Timm (see below) and their two daughters.

Timm Büch­ner is a co-founder of Inte­grate Cli­mate and cur­rently serves as direc­tor.  His exper­tise is in Dis­as­ter Risk Reduc­tion and par­tic­i­pa­tory approaches.
Timm’s expe­ri­ence is based on work for inter­na­tional NGOs and the gov­ern­ment organ­i­sa­tion GIZ hav­ing focused on inter­na­tional devel­op­ment and human­i­tar­ian assis­tance in Rus­sia, the Balkans, Cau­ca­sus, South and Cen­tral Asia, and East Africa.
Timm has a strong inter­est in ecol­ogy and an edu­ca­tional back­ground in Geog­ra­phy & Devel­op­ment Man­age­ment.  He is fre­quently a short-term elec­tion observer for the OSCE. Since 2008 he is based in Berlin with his wife Chris­tine (see above) and their fam­ily.
